January 16 is the deadline for team entries at 2009 Youth and Junior Canadian Championships.
Katy Dunn has been selected to take part in the female boxing exhibition which will be held during the 2007 World's Men Senior Championships in Chicago.
Nominations from around the world were sent to AIBA to partake in this event. Kathy was selected as one of four athletes for the two exhibitions bouts.

It is with sadness that we have to inform you that Mr. Ron Whalley passed away Wednesday, May 30,2007.
Ron devoted a big part of his life to the sport of Amateur boxing. Ron officiated and represented Boxing Canada at the 2000 Olympic games and other numerous international events. Ron was a former Board member of Boxing BC and the Executive Committee of Boxing Canada.
Ron's sense of humour will be missed by his family, friends and the Boxing community all over the world.

The 2007 World Championships, which also double as the opening qualification tournament for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, are expected to be the biggest ever with over 1,000 boxers and officials expected to attend.

Boxing Canada is seeking a National Coach for its High Performance Team.
Reporting to the Canadian Amateur Boxing Association (CABA) Executive Committee and Vice-President, Technical, the National Coach is responsible for the implementation of the Athlete Development Programs in conjunction with CABA. He/she advise the Executive Director in annual and multi-year plans and provide hands-on coaching at National and International competitions. The National Coach also liaise with personal coaches to provide leadership in performance objectives.

TORONTO, October 22, 2005 - It is with profound sadness that the Canadian Olympic Committee wishes to advise the Canadian sport community and our many partners and friends of the death last night of Mark Lowry, the COC's Executive Director of Sport. Lowry, 51, passed away in his sleep at his home in Ottawa following a valiant, two-year battle with pancreatic cancer.
Canada won 1 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze medals at the 3rd World Women's Boxing Championships in Podolsk, Russia - 25 September - 3 October 2005.

The Executive Committee of Boxing Canada appointed Mr. Ray Russell from Nova Scotia as the new Chief Official and Mr. Pierre Chiasson from Quebec as Vice-President for a period of two years.
Jimmy MacInnis, long-time member and leader in the Canadian Amateur Boxing Association (CABA), died after a long battle with cancer at the age of 69 on August 6, 2005. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 10, at 2:00 PM at the Warden United Church in Nova Scotia.
Jimmy MacInnis was involved in boxing from the grassroots level to the international level. Jimmy was instrumental in building up amateur boxing in Nova Scotia and Canada and was inducted into the Canadian Boxing Hall of Fame as builder in 1983 and is a life member of CABA
Jimmy was a director of CABA for 12 years and its President for ten years (1989 - 1999), he was the Team Manager for the Canadian National Boxing Team at the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona.
Jimmy dedicated his life to the sport of amateur boxing in Canada and worldwide. His priority was to work hard for the enhancement of amateur boxing, and for the good and welfare of boxers.
Jimmy will be long remembered, and missed by family, friends and the boxing community.
Boxing Canada was saddened to hear that Norris Petit passed away.
Norris Petit was a long time coach with the Saskatoon Aboriginal Youth Club. Norris is well known in the coaching circles throughout Canada, and his boxers have represented Saskatchewan at the Canadian National Championships and the Canada Winter Games on numerous occasions.
Today RBC Financial Group launched the 2005-2006 RBC Olympians Program. The program will employee current and past Olympic and Paralympic athletes on flexible work arrangements to allow for their training and competition needs. The athletes will act as community ambassadors, sharing their past experiences and current Olympic dreams with schools, community groups and RBC clients and employees. In addition to their community outreach role, the athletes will work in various departments within RBC gaining valuable work experience to help prepare for their lives after competition.
